FVDS School Swimming Gala 2019

Grangemouth Sports Complex was host to Forth Valley Disability Sport Regional School Swimming Gala on Friday 27th September 2019.

Pupils from fourteen schools from throughout the Forth Valley Area entered teams to compete in Assisted Breadth Swims, 25m, 50m and 100m events in Freestyle, Breaststroke, Butterfly and Backstroke and fun Relay Races.

35 swimmers from Forth Valley competed to a very high standard. Many of who achieved the qualifying times for the Scottish Disability Sport National Swimming Championships that take place on Wednesday 6th and 20th November 2019.

The competition was very close and there was very little time between placing in many of the events, which made for a great atmosphere and lots of cheering from the spectator's gallery.

Angus Whyte, FVDS Chairperson, presented medals to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place swimmers and everyone that participated received a certificate.

Many thanks must go to the many Falkirk Community Trust, Clackmannanshire Council, Active Stirling, Scottish Disability Sport, Officials and Grangemouth Sports Complex staff for their assistance at the event.

Results of the event can be viewed here.
