Bikes without barriers is an adapted cycling pilot programme taking place in the City of Stirling. Developed and delivered in partnership with Active Stirling and Forth Valley Disability Sport, with support from Stirling Council.


ASN Tennis Festival

Want to take learn tennis? Dunblane Sports Club are hosting an ASN Tennis Festival for free on Sunday 7th August and all ages and abilities are welcome. Under 16s from 2-3pm, with over 16s from 3-4pm.

SDS National Senior LD Swimming Championships

Forth Valley Disability Sport took a team of 7 swimmers from the Enable Arion Swimming Clubs to the Scottish Disability Sport National Senior Championships for Swimmers with Learning Disabilities held at Inverness Leisure centre in Inverness on Saturday 28th May 2022.

The swimmers competed against teams from throughout Scotland coming home with an excellent medal tally. All members of the team competed in finals in their events.

FVDS Regional Lawn Bowls Championships

20 Adults from the Forth Valley area came to Alloa East End Bowling Club in Alloa on Friday 27th May 2022 to compete in the 8th Annual FVDS Regional Lawn Bowling Championships for the opportunity to qualify for the Scottish Disability Sport National event in September.


Scotland storms to victory

Celebration and Friendships in Cardiff while Scotland storm through to take title!!!
The Learning Disability Indoor Bowls International Series Management team, athletes, coaches and volunteers descended on Cardiff this week. After the event being postponed, due to the covid 19 pandemic a total of three times, the LDIBIS event for the Munro Cup finally went ahead.


3 FVDS bowlers picked for Scotland

Three Forth Valley bowlers have been recently selected for Scotland in the upcoming Home Nation Championships to be held 22-24th April in Solihull, Birmingham.

Fraser Mathieson (Bridge of Allan BC, Stirling), Willie Nicol (Stirling BC) and Ian Graham (Stenhousemuir BC) will make the journey down south.

On behalf of all Forth Valley Disability Sport athletes, coaches, partners and volunteers, we’d like to say a very special thank you to our former Chairperson Angus Whyte.

Due to ongoing illness, Chair (Angus Whyte) has sadly had to step down from this voluntary role. We are extremely sad to see him go under these circumstances and would like to honour him by awarding him ‘Honorary Committee Member’ of FVDS.

Praise for school pupils and sport coordinators

School pupils and two community sports coordinators have been praised for their efforts to stay active during the pandemic by the Youth Sport Trust.

Youngsters from across Falkirk Schools, along with Active Schools coordinators Fiona MacKay and Lisa Male, were presented with the UK children’s charity’s Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award this week.
