Riverside Powerchair FC based in the Riverside area of Stirling, are on a drive to bring new players or existing players in and around the Forth Valley area, to join and grow their club.

Bowls

25 Adults from the Forth Valley area came to Alloa East End Bowling Club in Alloa on Friday 27th August 2021 to compete in the 7th Annual FVDS Regional Lawn Bowling Championships for the opportunity to qualify for the Scottish Disability Sport National event in Aberdeen in September.

The bowlers enjoyed a very competitive event with 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in each category received Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for their performances.

Friday’s Walk – Back in Action!

Our Friday Camelon walk re launched on Friday 2nd April, leaving from Forth Valley Sensory Centre Garden at 11.30am, and we were delighted to see everyone back walking with us. We had a great turnout and the sun was shining! We hope we can welcome new walkers very soon therefore keep a look out for updates. Forth valley Disability Sport is an organisation where any form of hate crime is not acceptable and will ensuure that no one is effected by this. Police Scotland has received released a hate crime report during the Covid-19 pandemic.

FVDS Awards 2020

Forth Valley Disability Sport successfully held their Annual General Meeting and Awards virtually over Zoom on Monday 22nd February 2021. The event was a triumph with over 45 in attendance including local, regional and national partners, sportscotland reps, Local Authority and SGB leads, clubs and volunteers. The purpose of the award ceremony this year was to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of our athletes, coaches and volunteers in the surreal year of 2020.

Nanairo Ekiden, big succes!

Last Sunday (8th March) the University of Stirling hosted Europe’s first ‘Nanairo Ekiden’ event as part of their annual Japanese Spring Series!

While the overall objective of the ‘Nanairo Ekiden’ (7 colour Japanese relay) series is to teach participants about the 7 Olympic/Paralympic values, this event additionally focused on emphasizing the importance of International Women’s Day within sports, whilst bringing Scottish and Japanese culture together.
